Environmental Assessment Minor
Major Code: MENVDevelop the skills and knowledge needed to conduct environmental assessments and reviews for permitting and other purposes. Students in this minor will learn how to collect and use geospatial data to create maps, identify plants by habitat type, and understand the environmental policies and laws that govern the review of projects that will impact the environment.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this minor students will be able to:
- Understand the policies and laws that govern environmental review.
- Collect and analyze geospatial data.
- Create detailed geospatial maps.
- Identify habitat types by the organisms of that environment.
- Identify and describe native and non-native species and their role in the environment.
Curriculum Requirements
A minimum of 15 credits is required for completion of the minor. Students must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in order to declare a minor.
