Natural Resources Minor
Major Code: MNTREngage with and manage natural resources and the people who use them. This minor is for students looking to learn more about the environment, how it is measured and managed, and how people and society interact with it. Applications of this minor include environmental law enforcement, eco-tourism, agriculture education, and environmental policy careers. Courses in the minor may count toward related NYS Civil Service exams. Depending on course selection, there may be course fees.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this minor students will be able to:
- Understand general environmental processes.
- Describe the impact humans have on nature.
- Measure and analyze natural populations.
- Interpret laws and policies that apply to natural resources.
- Discuss dilemmas and challenges in environmental planning.
Curriculum Requirements
A minimum of 15 credits is required for completion of the minor. A pre-requisite of MAGN 101 or MAGN 107 is required. Students must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in order to declare a minor.
